FMM is a critical consumable in the OLED display manufacturing process. During the evaporation stage of OLED panel production, the FMM precisely controls the alignment and resolution of the red, green, and blue (R/G/B) subpixels. The aperture size and accuracy of the FMM have a direct impact on the yield and quality of the OLED panels.
Everglow Precision produces FMM metal masks using an electroforming (additive) process, leveraging its proprietary electroformed Ni-Fe alloy technology. Compared to traditional chemical etching methods, this approach delivers superior dimensional accuracy and uniformity, enabling higher-performance OLED manufacturing.

- Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE)
As products enter the micro-scale domain, CTE becomes critical to process stability. Everglow Precision has developed an electroformed Ni-Fe alloy that stands out as the only material in the industry that achieves a CTE of 4–5 ppm/°C at OLED evaporation temperatures without requiring annealing. This unique property makes it highly suitable for both glass and flexible substrates used in the evaporation process.

- Thin Profile & Durability
Everglow Precision is capable of mass-producing FMMs with a thickness range of 10–25 μm, making them well-suited for the next generation of high-resolution OLED panels. As OLED production moves toward 8.6 generation lines and beyond, thinner FMMs help reduce gravity-induced deformation, thereby improving yield rates in large-format manufacturing.
- Dimensional Stability
Electroformed FMMs offer superior dimensional stability and uniformity compared to those produced by chemical etching. Additionally, the apertures on the substrate-facing side are free of shadow zones, which significantly reduces color mixing and blurring during the evaporation process.
- Excellent Elastic Modulus
The K-value is a critical parameter for evaluating deformation behavior during FMM tensioning. Everglow’s electroformed FMMs demonstrate stretch deformation levels comparable to rolled INVAR, meeting the precision tensioning requirements of modern OLED production lines.
- Low Internal Stress
Everglow Precision’s electroformed FMMs exhibit low internal stress, resulting in excellent flatness both before and after tensioning. This ensures higher stability and consistency during panel alignment and mass production.
- Excellent Magnetic Permeability
During OLED evaporation, an overhead electromagnet is used to precisely align and tightly attach the substrate and FMM to ensure uniform deposition. This prevents organic material from accumulating between layers and causing defects. Everglow Precision’s electroformed FMMs provide magnetic permeability that meets production line standards, ensuring reliable performance during the process.
